Ebenezer Scrooge is the hardest, coldest, and meanest old man in London. One evening his life is changed completely by four ghosts. They show him images of Christmas in the past, present and future and finally he becomes ‘…as good a man as the good old city knew.’ This is a true classic of English literature, known and loved by English speakers all over the world.

Charles Dickens wrote “A Christmas Carol” in 1843 and described it as 'intended to awaken loving thoughts'. His aim in writing the story was to capture the true spirit of Christmas and to draw attention to the suffering of poor people in Victorian England. Dickens felt that Christmas spirit was dying in his time. If that was true then it is certainly true today and the story of Scrooge and the ghosts who visit him has been popular ever since the day it was first published. It is now a stable part of the culture of all the English-speaking countries.

W ubiegły poniedziałek, 24 listopada ponad 100 osobowa grupa uczniów naszego liceum i gimnazjum wzięła udział w interaktywnym przedstawieniu „A Christmas carol”, przygotowanym przez międzynarodową grupę teatralną „The Bear Educational Theatre”, która specjalizuje się w uczeniu języka angielskiego poprzez interaktywne przedstawienia teatralne. The Bear Educational Theatre ma misję wspierania w procesie nauczania, oferując uczniom pozytywne doświadczenia związane z przyswajaniem wiedzy. Tradycyjne nauczanie umieszcza ucznia w pasywnej roli oraz kładzie nacisk na to, czego uczeń jeszcze nie wie, zamiast motywować go już zdobytą wiedzą. The Bear Educational Theatre kompensuje te braki, udowadniając uczniom, jak wiele już potrafią i jak wiele mogę się jeszcze nauczyć.
